Oooooh, I love that chocolate brown bustle skirt!!!  THe other things are pretty, but my problem with Victorian fashion is that I can't stand to have anything so close to my throat...  Not only does it drive me nuts and make me feel like I'm going to choke, I just don't look good in it, either.  I need a fairly low scoop neckline or else I end up looking like I have no neck.  :-\  Some things I've just learned to avoid...

Taffy... I am in awe of your talents, grrrl!!!  Geez...  Just the coolest!  :D

I hear 'ya Rani! I'm not a big fan of high collars or turtlenecks either but the 2 shirts I own aren't too bad...I like the fact that the tan one is striped. Maybe it's because I love pinstripe lol. These are the ones I want from there: http://retroscopefashions.com/images/lolita/TP00066PS.jpg

Why be mundane when you can be a Rennie?!

I hear ya'll on the high necklines.  I made a beautiful capelet last year to wear to WindyCon.  I put it on and it was like the full moon had risen.  Yuck!

Thanks for the compliments on my jacket - *bows humbly*.  Rani, this isn't so very hard to do, especially since you don't have to make the jacket - saves a lot of time.

So what are you doing this weekend?
I'm going to BARF!!!
You're going to...wait...WHAT???

I saw that on TV last night - the wedding seemed cool! Everyone was in Steam Punk for it - the bride and groom looked especially cool.

Oh, wow... great cake!!!  Did you check out the wedding blog?!?  The details are fantastic, and it looks like they had a marvelous time with it all!

I particularly love the way she layered the corset under her cut-away dress bodice...

I saw that last night! I was practically drooling! Trying to get my brother to do a steam punk wedding now, it's not working too well.

I was wondering if that was Devlyn's work!  I would be ticked if that was a knockoff.
Wonderful cake!

I'll have to dig up more of my wedding pictures. I liked our venue and outfits a little better, but that cake was cool. I'm sure it was well into the thousands.  My wifes dress was a custom made take on a mourning gown, I really liked it.

I'm kind of getting steampunk fatigue though. It seems all things Victorian are getting that label slapped on them. Last club night I went too, people just wore googles and rayguns with the same Victorian outfits they wore for a Victorian night...eh, whatever.

And the little gears on the table cards and the keys that say dream and life in the 1st pic are scrapbook findings from Tim Holtz Ideology line. I love that stuff, only cheap good sized gears I've ever been able to find. I've got the set of keys, key holes, and other nifty things. Amazing wedding :)

Now that's the kind of wedding you want to go to. Not the same old same old.

Crashbot, it'd be fun to see your pictures, and you *should* like your wedding best. It was yours!

I never get tired of seeing fun clothing worn by fun people, be it Rennaissance or Steampunk. Nothing tired about it at all! So endlessly inventive.

I'll see if I can find a few. I posted one a few pages back, but there are many more. I dig the whole genre when folks are imaginative and creative about it and I really dig, coming from a punkish type background, the DIY stuff the most.

When I wanted gears for something I was going to make, I just sent out an email at work asking for all the old broken clocks, pipes, electric motors, etc. After all the "are you building a robot or a bomb?" jokes I ended up with several boxes of steamy stuff. Then lazy kicked in and I havent made anything, yet.
