Is there a big 3 pattern out there for a Victorian shirt (preferably mid 1800s, though a Gibson style would work, too). I feel like I've searched all of them, to no avail, but I'd really like to make one for the SF Dickens Faire (I know, not Steampunk, but I didn't know where else to ask).

This is what I'm going for (though I will be adding a Peter Pan collar):

What feels like it's teasing me is that half the Butterick patterns are shown with a lady wearing a Victorian shirt and something else. But the patterns are always for the something else.

Here ya go:  http://trulyvictorian.com/catalog/441.html

Edit:  While this is not one of the Big 3, I can thoroughly recommend their patterns.  They are printed on heavy paper and are really nice quality.  She also ships super fast.

Hello! I haven't been around the forum much lately and with graduations, weddings, grandbabies, etc. taking up my time I haven't been working on my garb. My son is getting married October 30th and is having a costume party reception so I am looking forward to an excuse to wear my Victorian/Steampunk garb! I'm planning to dress as a proper Victorian lady for the ceremony, photos, and dinner but after that I will strip down to my camisole, corset, and bloomers and add some steampunk accessories. :D

Sounds like a great time!  Remember to pose for lots of photos, in your skimpies as well as in your finery, and post them for us, please!!!

Surprised Black Fox hasn't been by to post this but...here's a group of steampunk folk at MDRF yesterday. (I'm in the back, right, with the blue/teal bodice)

Oh, yay!  Lady Joyce Ann posted this on my facebook page yesterday, but it was tiny and I couldn't make out any detail, but I can see all of you now!  Looks like it was a nice turnout, and everyone looks wonderfully Steamy!!!

What was funny was when a group of us were walking around the faire before the photoshoot, we'd hear people in passing: "is it a Steampunk brigade? Steampunk day?". :)

What a lovely turnout of highly steamy punkers.  It looks like a good time was had by all.  And *jealous!*

EDIT:  I finally broke down & bought a subscription to the Concordium today.  I'm really looking forward to receiving it.

My future daughter-in-law told me today that she wants me to help her come up with a steampunk-ish/burlesque circus ringmaster or lion tamer outfit for the reception. (She's thinking more the ringmaster look but wants to carry a whip. ;D )
