Lady Isabella

Thank you ladies!
Anna, The bodice is from Simplicity 9256, View A. I love this pattern. I've also made View B.

Anna Iram

Thanks! Someone mentioned theres a Simplicity sale this weekend. I want to pick up a few new bodice patterns.  :)

Auryn, That's gonna be so pretty. The embroidery on the sleeves will be a really nice touch.

Lady Isabella

Anna, I've had the pattern about 8 years.

Auryn, that color is very beautiful!

Got started on two sleeve options for Kendyl.
They can be worn together or separately.

Lady Rebecca

Auryn, the fit on that looks great! And Lady Isabella, I love that first hanging sleeve. Very pretty!

Rebecca, you are sewing up a storm up there in in Orlando. May I ask the same question of you? Are you working on all these lovely things for a particular project or just for the love of sewing?
I'm trying to make a bunch of different outfits for costume college this summer. The chemise a la reine wasn't in my plans until I saw all the pictures other people have taken of them at past costume colleges.

Though in general, I hope to basically make at least one outift in each historical silhouette. I'm making the ones I like most first. And since I'm moving back to the bay area in CA for a little while, I'll wind up using a bunch of them at all the Greater Bay Area Costumers Guild events.

That concept with two sleeves = gold.  :)

Auryn

I second that- the double sleeve is awesome

Lady Isabella

Thank you ladies! Your opinions mean alot to me.

amy

Lady Isabella it is truly lovely.. But just like when I am working with my lifesize Barbie.... I like it best with the neon/heart fuzzy jammie bottoms!

LadyShadow

Love the dual sleeve option. Such a beautiful dress. Makes me wanna make more dresses for my girls.
May the stars always shine upon you and yours.

Royal Order of Landsharks Guppy # 98 :)

Lady Isabella

Amy,
I never thought of that! Can't wait to tell Kendyl she's "my lifesize Barbie"! I love it.

With all the other beautiful dresses at court, I was trying to find a way to make her dress "stand out". Be a little bit different.
It is kind of a "frankendress". LOL   Seems like someone here made a "frankenchemise"? (I'm borrowing the term)

gem

Hee! That was me!  It was actually my "Franskensmockup"--the mockup to a smock cobbled together from various chemise/shirt/partlet patterns.  ;D  I think Lady Rebecca also had a Frankensmock--although she actually finished hers.

(I frequently Frankenpattern. I think a lot of us do.)

Lady Rebecca

I frankenpattern all the time! That blue chemise from last week was a frankenpattern, too.

Here's an update on my chemise a la reine. I spent 3 hrs handsewing on the lace/velvet ribbon at the neckline today. I still need to add lace to the sleeve edges, and I need to hem the skirt, but other than that (unless I decide to add a drawstring at the waist) it's done! I also started the petticoat for it today. It's light blue sateen, knife pleated, with a ruffle. I didn't buy enough of the sateen for the ruffle, so I'm heading back to Joanns on Sunday to finish that, and I still need to press the pleats, and then it will be finished.

Lady Isabella: that outfit is special.   :)  The double sleeve is excellent.

Lady Rebecca: the new improved lace is full of win!  Good choice.

I've been a tad busy myself.  I have a lilac hem to take up, and some hooks and eyes to put on the bodice and stomacher of the rust.  The black and white progresses well.  And the purple sacque is complete, now it has the sleeve ruffles!  Must take pix of that...

Valencia

Kate, your work is spectacular!!! I love seeing your gowns, they are just gorgeous.

Lady Rebecca

The lilac outfit is so beautiful! And the stomacher on the polonaise is such a nice touch.
