Here is my most current gown. I have decided to add more trim along the top of the bodice front and wider trim on the shouder rolls. I'm also going to add some beading on the sleeves and forepanel and some sort of embelishment on the tabs. But this is it so far...

Lady Rebecca

Very nice! I'm a sucker for blue velvet. And I like those shoulder rolls. :)

Thanks, Lady Isabella, even knowing that much helps! Silly me, I never thought of putting the comb in underneath the ponytail. That would definitely make it more secure :) And I LOVE that smock! I'm very jealous that you have that pattern--I've been looking for it for a year and have yet to find it anywhere :(

gusjodi, that's beautiful! I love velvet in any incarnation, but the underskirt and sleeves material is amazing! I also love the big buttons on the sleeves  ;D

Oh Jodi that is fantastic.  You took all the little details that I love and put them all into one dress.  the tabs with the shoulder rolls are terrific.  You didn't scrimp on the details that is for sure!  Beautiful work.   Would love to see it on you!

Lady Kathleen of Olmsted

Jodi! Your project looks very similar to the one I did for celticfae in the fall of 2009.and

Yours will be lovely when you finish it. Can't wait to see the final results.

I actually haven't tried it on yet...

amy

Haven't tried it on!    That is a phoenomenon to me who works with no dress form.  I sew half the gown wearing some part of it!
Lady Kathleen I remember seeing that lovely red velvet.   Scrumptious.  I love the rich fabric with the gobs of trim.

Lady Rebecca

The trim is all done! I will be adding three more hooks and eyes towards the top, which will hopefully close up that gap. There will also be swarovski crystal pieces going down the front center.

Rebecca, that's beautiful! That color is fantastic, and those sleeves are swoon-worthy  :D Excellent job!
