The Italian blackworked camicia is still in making (read: being embroidered). But maybe I'll actually get to sew it together in 2011? In the mean time, here is the site where I post updates:

Anea, that's beautiful! What kind of fabric are you using (I mean, I know it's linen, but details?). One of my goals for 2011+ is to incorporate my needlework into my costuming, but I'm stumped when it comes to mixing needlework linen with sewing linen.

For this project I'm using a 19th century linen bedsheet. It's not too thick, and has a nice shine. It's also well-worn, which means it's soooooft.  :) The original camicia used a finer linen for the sleeves, and a thicker one for the main body. I use the same fabric for main body + sleeves. It's embroidered with black cotton thread; the original has dark purple silk floss. I wanted silk originally, but it was hard to get + way too expensive...

I can finally scratch at least 1 thing off, and I can say Pp's new pants are ready to go.

It is kind of strange watching your personal history become costume.

Lady Rebecca

LadySeasan

my plans for 2011 have changed. since I have a baby due in August! i'm going to be changing some things

for myself

I am going to attempt to work on an italian based/inspired gown.   i think it will be way more comfortable during and after pregnancy to wear at the MD and PA ren fairs.  i'm used to wearing tudor gowns though, so this is way new territory to me!  i'm only going to stick with one gown this year, since we won't be going as often due to new baby :)

my husband

i have to finish his doublet (that i started working on last season), and make a matching doublet for him to go with my new gown

for the baby!!! (weeee!)

i knw that babies typically wore just a little dress/chemise. but if its a girl, she will have a tiny little over dress for her one day at fair. if its a boy, a tiny little doublet

i was going to work on some awesome outfits for steampunk fair, but id rather be comfortable rather than stylish
so im going to keep it simple

My schedule has changed as well as Alterations for Bridal and Prom are picking up, as well as Commissions lining up that will keep me busy through October.

My stuff will have to wait.

Oh wow everyone has such wonderful plans.  I am glad this thread is here because it got me thinking a little more seriously about what I want to get done.

Well my husband just sent home some fabric from Kuwait.  It looks like sari fabric.  And the guy he got it from...said it was sari fabric.  But until I see it.....  So i'm waiting for that to arrive so I can pick out fabric to make the skirt and choli to go with it.  If that goes well I think it'll be my Frankenfeast outfit.

I have several gowns I've made in the past that I'd like to give new life to.  Partly because I'm rapidly losing weight (finally) and should be able to fit back into them again this year.  So that would be:
-peacock middle class gown...which also needs a new hat
-green and pink gown
-navy velvet english fitted gown
-navy wool kirtle and purple wool doublet
-camel velvet italian
-pink venetian - this is so close to being finished it's really a crime that it's not.
All of those outfits need some TLC, new trim, and some fun accesories that I might have not had time to make for them before.

I also would really like to make:
-a working class italian outfit
-an 18th cenury gown to go with my cute little tricorn hat and undergarments that were my 18th centruy tart outfit at a recent party.  Which if fun for a pirate fest, but would also really love a gorgeous gown to go with it all.
-a vampire outfit that i've had floating in my head but havn't brought to life...somewhat based on the purple and black gown worn in the second Elizabeth movie with that black lace collar.  yum
-a tudor gown to go with the french hood I made 3 years ago.

Oh who am I kidding my list of WANTS could fill a whole notebook.  Now to get motivated and turn WANTS into HAVES!!!!

DonaCatalina

I just started an new insanity. I have some dark green fabric with a flower and ribbon pattern. Similar to this
I am overembroidering the borders in metallic gold and making a bodice out of it. maybe even sleeves.

So far I only have planned the hand sewn,  black worked chemise and keeping a journal on my progress. It's not posted yet but I have been fairly good at keeping it up to date hehehe. I am on  very slow dial up (welcome to the country) so anything on the internet is an all day chore.

-make a knee length tutu for my dark fairy garb
-possibly alter and add to my blue fairy garb

3 book covers
a wrap to go with the gown
a naval captain's uniform, Trafalgar era
a little poly or silk top

The Cavalier stuff is for 2013's game, but the rest needs to be done by Easter.

Ok, how much of a Rennie am I when I start having garb dreams.  I had a dream the other night I decided to make a 'stash' dress, and went the first day of Scarby in a red velvet bodice, with white egypian cotton sleeves , and gold trim and pearls italian gown.

I either 1) spend too much time with all of you  or 2)  need to quit working on theater projects before bed.  ;D

Optiomn 3) Make the dress!   ;D ;D

Valencia

I'm really impressed that you all the year planned out. I have sewing ADD, I can only plan out a project or two in advance, because I never know what project I will find that will completely consume my focus!  ;

So far this year, I've finished:
1880 Victorian walking gown (and hat!)
1890 Victorian bathing suit
Kilt

On my list:
Hat for 1890 bathing suit
Finish the 1770's frock coat (UFO)
Finish the 16th c venetian (UFO)
Victorian dress for a masqurade ball (ball gown bodice, butterfly train, and an underskirt)
Steampunk victorian (dark, in the planning stages)
Possibly an asian inspired pirate outfit
Pirate coat for this September

But I so can't commit to anything after the steampunk, because I'm sure something else will come along that will catch my eye, lol!
