I would have much preferred to have come across that for myself... and since I haven't seen the movie, then yes, you did give something away. I can't even imagine why you would want to do that...

You saw no spoilers. Republican credits will do just fine.

I hardly think her trying to be helpful and sharing one anecdote from a movie that has been out over a month and discussed all over the place in great depth...was meant in any way to be hurtful.

Matter of fact in the many years I have known her, never have I ever heard anything of the sort come from her towards anyone. Not that she's a Saint, some words she has uttered ALMOST made me blush. Just not towards other people.

And Gods forbid it was Ren related. :o

Life's too short..... ;D

okay, I don't know if some sort of chaos demon or spirit of anger got loose on the world, but I have seen a dozen cases of otherwise normal, civil, levelheaded people go nuclear over the simplest things. I hate watching people I like argue, I've seen enough conflict, violence and destructive behaviour to last ten lifetimes, from my parents' divorce to the bloodshed I deal with at work. Last night I was involved in a discussion that went south into vitriolic rage unlike anything I have seen outside of a UFC pre-match trashtalking session. We're all friends here, fight whatever the hell this thing is that seems to be whispering in peoples' ears of late to set one against another. Remember who we are.

If I am remembering correctly, there is a nice drive-in just a short ways south of Dallas on 45.  I have driven by it several times, but really never paid much attention to it until this thread went sideways.   ;D

I've avoided reading anything at all about the movie since before it even had trailers out, and have heard numerous references to "the quote"... but so far no one anywhere that I have read or heard had ever actually said it.

I am certain there was absolutely no harm meant... but it has also just as certainly diminished the moment that every rennie I know who has seen it has referred to as being one of the funniest in the movie.  Please don't quote from movies to those who haven't seem them yet...

I'm not angry, but now my anticipation of what, for my family, is a special occasion, since we seldom get to go see first run movies, is definitely... less.   :-\

Lady Gryphon, I am sorry for sounding harsh. That was not my intent.  I am merely... disappointed that I didn't get to discover it for myself.

Breandan, I do know what you mean... lately there has been a lot of chaos energy swirling around, but having it pointed out definitely makes me more aware of it, and reminds me to check my words and actions to make sure I am responding instead of merely reacting, and that's an excellent reminder to have.  Thank you, hon... :)

*GROUP HUG*

:)

Awww... you're such a Boy Scout.  ;)  Seriously... we need more group hugs around here right now!

I'm bummed...  When we got to the drive-in ($10 worth of gas ago...) we sat in line for 20 minutes before we were told that not only did the gates open 2 hours earlier, but that all the designated spots for trucks, vans and RV's were taken, and only cars would be accepted from then on... and we could come back at 11pm if we wanted to try again.  Spending another $10 in gas... and waiting in line for who knows how long the next time, to be told they are still full...

Needless to say we turned around and came home, renting a couple of movies on the way.  Not X-Men or THOR, though... but at least we have something to watch.   :-\

Still... Scally was extremely disappointed, since we've been trying to plan this for a while, now... and she's never been to a drive-in before.  We'll try again next weekend, and just hope they still have the same movies...

It seems to be some sort of symptom of fest withdraw.

If you ever find yourself near Wimberley, TX, you might check out the Theater that's mentioned at minute 21:29 in Episode 204 of Day Tripper with Chet Garner.  I know if I'm ever over in that area of TX, I want to visit the place that's mentioned at minute 16:55.   ;D

I'm quite torn; should this go in the Rant thread, or in What made my day thread?

hmmmmm
If her eyes aren't sparkling, you didn't do it right...

Rani Zemirah

Well... since the Rant Thread appears to be no more, I'm guessing there's really only one other place it CAN go!  ;)  :D

I hope it wasn't anything fun and lively like the Dropkick Murphy's... but something somber and dirge-like, so they get the full effect of mournful, dragging, depressing pipes played as loud as electronically possible in a residential area!  ;D

Well, it's not found in any search, so either it's been hidden pending final decision, or it's been axed altogether...

(I searched because there was a particular picture in there I wanted to save... )  :D

Of course, it's been conveniently left... unmentioned... that the Absolutely Random Thoughts thread has pretty much served as an abbreviated rant thread since it was started... it's just less obvious because other things get posted there, as well.  ::)
