LadyeA

here's a sample giornea I made for my garment line, a loose Florentine outer garment from the late 1400s.  The silver brocade sleeves and gold and white brocade are also handwoven with silk and delicate high-luster metal thread.  The giornea brocade is something I got specially from the weavers to resemble some textile pieces I've seen in the Metropolitan Museum's database, with the marquise shape and undulating garlands.  when dressed on a real woman and not a dress form, the gown underneath will provide a high rounded bust and you know, more "oomph" to the silhouette ;)   You might notice it needs a final press, but I'm holding off on that until I do a better photoshoot.

Wow!
I am way behind on this thread. Wonderful work LadyeA and Centuries. Those dresses look like they stepped right out of a painting.

I don't usually post here (as I don't sew...well, I can make a pouch or sew on a button, I just rarely hold still long enough ~ LOL!) but I have to say I agree with the others, Lady Rebecca ~ I would love a romper like that (I'd probably choose non-H/A color combinations, though...I'm kinda that way sometimes  ;))

It's adorable and it suits you quite well!  :)

My hat! It's my first hat.  It didn't come out quite like the hat that I got the inspiration from, but that's totally my fault.  Either way, I still LOVE IT! <3

I finished this for Bristols Day of Wrong. It was the first thing I did on my own.

It looks a little off center looking but it really wasn't. The lights actually lit up. It was all glitter felt, the sleeves were just some awesome trim sewn on to the arm straps. There was a star on the top of my head in the flowers.

I could see someone wearing this to the Celtic Christmas day at TRF :)  Very nice.
It is kind of strange watching your personal history become costume.

LadySeasan, that hat is adorable! I love way it's just a little floppy but still stiff enough to hold its shape. And the feathers are great  :D
Sometimes you can't wait for the storm to pass; you have to just get out there and dance in the rain.
