Merlin, we are ready to go.  Just keeping an eye on things right now and doing our 3rd or 4th check and re-check of what we have and need.  I am thankful we get this much time to prepare unlike others.

Winds were blowing to the SE on my way home.  They are supposed to almost completely reverse direction tonight.  That could be good as there won't be much fuel left to burn.

It's big and it's so dry that I've heard similar estimates.  Without rain it's a tough battle.  None in the forecast either.

FIRE STATUS UPDATE ... from Magnolia West Command Post ... Firefighters expect to ACTIVELY fight the Riley Road/Tri-County fire for the next 2 weeks. After that, they will have to maintain the area until rain comes. Winds are causing concern: the fires keeps spreading because of wind changes.

A friend of ours that lives out there, off of 1488... she saw a column of smoke coming from by the library as she was pulling out.
