Merlin!

The Oklahoma Faire in Muskogee is a nice one. The Earl and I spent a weekend there in 2009 before heading down Scarby for closing weekend.

Yes, Nim and I took a friend to OkRF last year—his first faire.  He's hooked...

Finals are done and I have time to start on my new gown!!!!

Trying to recreate this: http://www.thepeerage.com/341960_001.jpg

Just have a few things to finish on the bodice, then onto the skirts.
I'm not usually a fan of pink, but lately I've got the idea in my mind that I absolutely need a ridiculously girly dress. So Pink it is!  I should be more or less done with it all by the end of the weekend.

Looking very good so far. I'm not a particularly pink girl either, but for costuming it's fun.

Thanks!
Here's the updated version, still missing hooks on the bodice and the trim is all pinned on. I wanted to use the same trim from the bodice on the shoulder rolls, but I haven't seen any more at my joanns. I bought the fabric and trim awhile ago for another project then decided to do this instead. Also still missing the partlet... I'm nervous about starting it (never made one before) so I keep putting it off.

I am liking this dress a lot. I might have to steal your color combo idea.

Thanks Dona! Go right ahead :). I ended up using an eggplant color to line the sleeves and bodice with that complimented the green and pink both really well.

Silverstash! Lovely vest. Very Victorian.

A few fun things I made for an Elderly friend of mine who is like a Second father to me. Very Minnesotan in tone. He is in a Nursing Home a the moment. These are for him for Christmas.

Bibs for Grownups. I drafted a pattern on a grocery bag 5 years ago based on Bibs for Babies. Grownups tend to spill food on their clothes no matter how careful they are. Why not have a Bib made of fabrics that are cool no matter the place?

My Mother has 16 Bibs I have made her in themese for Holidays, Events, just because. My Mother has one for a Mexican, Chineese, and Italian restaurants when she eats out. Even a bib for a Casino. The first one I had made her was out of Red Hatter printed fabric because she is a Red Hatter. Her friends loved hers so much, they wanted Bibs made to wear when they went out and not get their clothes messy.

Each Bib takes 5/8 yard of 45" wide fabric and 1 package of Single Fold wide bias Tape. Which is why I do not throw away any left over fabric. My husband has 2 I made him and he uses them. The possibilities are endless.

That is beautiful! I wish I had the time to embroder like that well at all. But you are doing great!

Lady Kathleen of Olmsted

That is beautiful, silverstash.

I used to embroider a lot back when I was in high School. That was another lifetime ago. I have a new book  Beginner's Guide to Blackworking by Lesley Wilkins. I need to get back to embroidering for Shirts.

Never too old to learn some new techniques.

I'd like to learn how to do something like that, Silverstah. I have no crafting or artistic ability at all...but I do like cookies...chocolate chip...or Oreos. I don't think it looks at all like a first grader's project!
