So cool! I cannot wait. My other client will be stoked to have buttons for his Teague coat as you are for yours.

Merlin the Elder,
It might be a VERY Curious Case, indeed!

Well, I dunno....I think back in those days, they would be called Mercenaries...and they are sure popularized in film, song, books and Ren Garb.....observe my pic garb....so it appears I am in quite good company....and you yourself requested my skills as a bodyguard.....*Wicked Smile*

A nice portion of buttons are on their way to you this day.  I wonted to get them sent before I forgot.  Anyway I sent a few more than requested,  you will be the KEEPER OF THE SPARES!  LOL.  I'll hang on to some as well.  Did you get the measurements I sent and did I take them correctly?

Thanks again
Why do I feel like I've worn something like this before?

Another update:

Spoke with a wonderful lady hatter at the LARF this season and though she is quite busy with orders, she took precise measurements and after I emailed her some pics of Teague's hat, she said she would be able to replicate it and if at all possible have it ready by the end of February.

Emailed the boot maker I spoke with at TRF also this season and he had said probably I would have them by Christmas. To which I had said no RUSH on them, but that would be just fine. I messaged just to touch base on the progress and he emailed back to say he was not happy with the current leather he had on hand so he ordered some new that was more to his liking for the quality needed. Which I appreciate very deeply and a shameless plug goes out to Doug at renboots.com  ;D  I should be receiving these in a couple weeks or so.

Best news so far as to finding exact replica items....I have been running myself ragged to find the a sword even close to the one Teague wears. Nothing nothing nothing even similar. Explored the idea of buying a cheap one (which I did ) and modifying it, but even with my somewhat considerable modifying skills, I felt I would not be able to do it justice. So on a whim I went to a random link posted here in the arms section and messaged the Master Swordmaker. He responded quickly and we exchanged many emails to which to my utter delight he has seen the Teague sword with his own eyes and assured me he can definitely reproduce both sword and scabbard to my specifications!  That is now ordered.  ;D

We cheated a bit on the shirt, Lady Gryphon ordered me a base poet shirt for Christmas and she will be adding to it as per lace and things.

Still seeking proper material for the waistcoat and assorted pictures make it hard to tell the exact color on it. Big thanks to C Dragonwerks for sending me a link to a massive pic, it really really helps in seeing more detail.

She is also working on the Baldric and Belt, however finding exact buckles is also proving to be a quest. The belt looks as if it is simply cut flat steel, so I may be able to cut one myself with a dremel and have it powdercoated. The Baldric buckle....so far the only custom made quote I have is a hundred, which considering all the other piece costs, I just cant justify.

Jewelry.....I have the skull ring, still looking for the others. Although he changes jewelry depending on the pics you look at. Would love to get something similar to the rings in that big pic above. I don't think the hair accessories will be nearly as difficult as most things.

We found some darn near exact material for the sash...once it has been beaten and weathered of course.

Any and all input is more than welcome as always ( including wiseazz  Wizards. )  ;D

Currently the plan for the unveiling is set for the Pensacola Ren Fair in early March. 8)

*Update*

The new boots are here!!!!
*Pirate Jig in them*
Pics soon, I have to leave for work. *must resist temptation to wear them to work, musssst resissst.....*  8)
They are just too kewl. Teague wears what looks like suede, but the maker told me that pure suede would tend to be too flimsy and they would try to fall down too easily. So we turned a set of stiffer leathers inside out. They were delayed because the maker wanted to wait until a better grade of leather came in and due to his sage advice, they are perfect. A big thanks and a shoutout to Doug Dealy from renboots.com. Look him up at TRF if ya in the neighborhood.  ;D

And on another note, anyone care to take a shot at what material, pattern, and style his waistcoat is made from? We are having some difficulty with it. And having all the movie set shot lighting making it 3 different colors isn't helping either, lol. She found an awesome replacement if needed, but of course trying to get as close as possible.

Another update:

Got the boots.

Pants (or slops ) are in process

Coat....eagerly awaited  ;D

Waistcoat in process. I think I found the closest I can get here. You have to click the far right button under the swatch pic for the red/black design.
http://www.nyfashioncenterfabrics.com/barroque-metallic-brocade.html

Hat in process

Sword in process (again eagerly awaiting, I just love pointy things. And my first full staged combat ready blade...*Happydance * )

Got the shirt. Quest ongoing to find proper lace for the cuffs so Milady can attach some.

Got the sash. Just needs weathered.

Buckles....are being a pain to find at all. Perhaps I can cut the belt buckle out of flat steel with a dremel and paint or powdercoat it, but the Baldric one....grrrr.... C Dragonwerks is more than willing to construct the leather but not till I have some buckles to make them correctly.

Need to start looking for all the jewelry. Rings, neckchains, bracelets and hair danglies. Only have the skull ring so far.

Help.....?  ;D

*SIGH*

Setback. Major one...

The vendor from the LARF that I commissioned to make the Teague Hat has had to postpone indefinitely. With good reason, they moved into a new home and it had hidden mold which made her and her husband sick, so they have to move again. Still no less frustrating since I commissioned this at the end of last November. And my first dress rehearsal/appearance is scheduled for the last week of Feb.

Depressed is not the word. The hat is one of the key points.

So....can anyone recommend some reliable, skillful, without losing an arm and a leg, hatters?
