Wee Wench - I am with the rest of the gang.  Your ablity to match and lay out that fabric is AMAZING.  That is an artwork unto itself.

Kate - cool uniform.  The tailoring and details are great.

The little girl in her dress is just adorable - nice job on the garb and doing it on the cheap is just icing on the cake!

Love the Space Ranger suit!

Mythrin, thank you!

Okay, last one for a while, I promise.  This is some of the prettiest fabric I've ever worked with.  I'm normally not crazy about chenille, but the detail and design is so pretty.  It's the Alter Years pattern with my own pattern for the tabs and I used the Simplicity #4059 pattern for the sleeves.

I would have to concur. Where do you find your delicious fabrics, nicki? You do come up with some good ones.

Fabric Guru is where I buy all of my bodice and doublet fabrics.  I check every few days to see what new delights they've recently added. :)

I will have to check that out. Thanks nicki!

While I find delicious fabrics here in Minnesota, it's always good to look for other sources. I see a fabric and I know instantly what I want to make out of it.

You're welcome!  I'm really trying to only buy fabrics when I have a specific plan for them...not just because they're pretty!  It's so difficult though.  So many fabrics, so little time.

Which is why I have built up a stash over the years, nicki. I see unique fabrics that i will not see again on a next visit to the Fabric Wharehouse I go to. I make sure I get 5 to 10 yards of it. I would rather have leftovers to use for another project for myself or a client.

Because I do other Periods of Clothing besides Tudor/Elizabethan, I do have to discipline myself on what my budget will allow. Mostly I shop for Commissions on fabrics clients request in color, design, etc. or that which catches my eye that will work perfectly for, such as the Venetian Court gown ensemble and the Captain Teague Coat..

New sleeves for the gold dress. These are constructed to hang down, or be worn over kirtle sleeves, and allow them to be seen.

Ok, so it's a little late, but...here are two pictures of my 3 nephews in their "Dragon Knight" tabards.  (YOU try corralling a 5, 4 and 2 yr old into a group shot, LOL!)  Since our faire can be so hot, they can wear their shorts with these and the tabards should grow with them for a few years until they can all go for the whole day or possibly several days (without naps)!

I'm not fat, it's just that a skinny body couldn't hold ALL THIS PERSONALITY! ;)

Too cute!!! The little ones look so darling.

Well done Nicki on the Doublet. Stunning!

Dona! Can't wait to see the rest of your ensemble. The sleeves are gorgeous.
