So, I have recently created my first Cod Piece and could not decide, "What is the best way to wear/attach it?"

You can discreetly sew lacing loops onto your slops with a heavy thread in the needed places to blend in, then lace the ties so they attach. THat should work.

First off.  Is this going on Trunk Hose? 

With my friend's trunks we whip stitched the bottom of the cod piece directly to the trunks and pointed the top and sides with eylets on the codpiece and points on the trunks.  It worked well.

The ones I make for his excellency have ties at the top corners. I use a picot ribbon that blends in with the fabic of the slops.

I think the ones I've seen (of historical examples) have been tied-ons. Often the cod-piece has been attached to a small panel, and it's the panel that has been laced to the front of the pants/trouses/hoses. The latter is the case with the Sture clothes (or at least that of Erik and Svante Sture), and of the Medici clothes. Some general pictures of them here, not showing the cod-piece in detail:

This is an early Spanish style codpiece that is roughly triangular and has no back panel. The ties are behind the upper corners.


The larger Henrician codpieces shaped rather like a P and attached to a triangular back piece. I don't have a good photo of that.

It is to be on venetians or pantaloons actually.  But I wonder if this may work?

Why are you putting a codpiece on them?  The button fly of venetians make the codpiece unnecessary.  To be completely honest I can't think of any examples of codpieces on Venetians.

Attach it to an athletic supporter to wear under the venetians. It will hang through the gap in front.

I have a friend who's cod that ties on...

there are strings that are on each corner and two go around the waist and well the third needs no explianing... That said he wears his tights rarely cuz he says the blasted thing is uncomfortable, but that is him
