Okay Texans. Commence an immediate search for any Yankees who are within our state. Check to see if they have permission to visit our state and ensure they have signed the "Don't bring your snow down here" agreement. If they cannot provide proof, get them reported to the YLWIEO (Yankee Lousy Weather Immigration Enforcement Organization).

I figure once the accumilation gets to 1/8 inch, they will close all the businesses.

I didn't do it!!!! I swear!!!!! If any of you saw me around the camp fire you know what a cold wimp I am.. ha! You all can have the 6 inches we got here on Sunday..... More on the way tomorrow and Friday too... *sigh*... No chance of any office closing though....

Enjoy your winter wonderland!!!  :D  :-*

and just for good measure....  ;D

FRONT WHEEL DRIVE: The biggest problem facing most winter drivers is skidding on slick, icy or snow covered roads. It is possible to steer out of a skid! Once you feel your car begin to skid, slowly remove your foot from the accelerator, until you feel your wheels regain traction control. (Do not attempt to brake!) As your vehicle's tires grab the road, slowly turn the steering wheel in the direction you want your front wheels to go.

REAR WHEEL DRIVE: When you begin to spin, remove your foot from the gas pedal. Slowly steer in the direction you want the car to go. If you are still skidding out of control, counter-steer until your vehicle is pointing in the right direction. Never apply steady pressure to the brakes.

It's always Beer:30 here....

*sigh* So many kilts, so little time......

Don't blame me.  While I am from Montana, it wasn't a State then so technically I am not a Yankee.  Unless you go by the "Everything north of the Red River" definition.  I hate the cold.  That is why I came to Texas over 20 years ago.  Bring on the 85 degrees and a green Christmas!
But everything Muffin says about driving is right.  And unless you have ABS brakes, remember to pump those brakes if you absolutely have to use them.  Gearing down also can help.

We actually had snow in Texas City!!!!  We also heard from a friend that it snowed in Galveston!
WOOHOO!!

Yes, I'm a yankee and I love snow!
Got faerie dust?

LadyShadow

I'm sad to admit this... But that Yankee outta place might be someone I know.  Just a couple of months ago my sister boyfriend from OK moved down here :(  Sorry guys.

It snowed in Bacliff.  In fact this morning I had to remove snow from my windshield.

There was enough in Rice Village that Lawrence and his manager had a snowball fight with what they scraped off the roofs of their cars.  Very pretty, and totally helped my holiday mood.  I'm a transplanted Yankee, but I've been here long enough to score way more "Dixie" on the "Yankee vs. Dixie" quiz.  It wasn't me!!

(Now, that colleague from Virginia I saw around the office this morning - maybe HE brought it with him!)

Yay for snow! I don't like cold at all, but if it's gotta happen, this is some compensation. I doubt I'd feel that way if I lived any farther north, though.

Snow at my house in Bryan Texas, yesterday:

Ah yes, blue, out soft-spoken, subtle camp mistress.  Sometimes it's so hard to get two words out of her. ;-)

...love you, please don't kill me!
