Anyone that has a lick of sense and a love for their neighbor will call the police on someones behalf.

In my case... either one, two, or both of these things happened...
1) "no one has a lick of common sense or any love for their neighbor"('s RV).

Or most likely

2) THERE WERE NOT ENOUGH BLOODY COPS PATROLLING AFTER CHARLIE AND MIKE WERE FIRED.

Given the fact that my RV has had attempted break-ins 3 times out of 5 years attending, I believe the first is quite true.  Based solely on the number of pry marks on my RV, the level of scum in the camp grounds for the last few years is horrid, and the worst I have seen in 13 years of being at TRF.

Given that my RV was damaged immediately AFTER Charlie and Mike were fired, I strongly believe the second is true as well.

The number of patrolling officers was increased on second weekend. Their presence was greatly appreciated, and having talked to some of them already, I have found them to be conscientious but not numerous enough.  Too late, damage done.

Is their attempt at increasing patrolling going to be enough?  I'd say no way... they failed to stop the other 3 attempts on my property after being 'ramped up' further each year.

Quite frankly, I would applaud anyone being 'vigilant' in my direction.  Call the police and take lots of pictures ;-)

Oh wait.. how convenient... the police/security call-in numbers have been taken down from around the camp grounds.  Probably cost too much to man a phone? (or woman a phone, I don't want to be sexist ;-)   So, what about those $20 fees?

Unfortunately, Charlie's wife was fired also in Georges fit of insanity So I have decided to personally boycott TRF and will not be spending my money there any more. From now on I will be making all of my purchases at Sherwood in the spring. I know its a drop in the bucket for George but its my money (I usually  spend about $2500.00 a year) and he wont be seeing a penny of it ever again for the magic is gone as long as that tyrant is at the helm....

Vigilante... Lol, good one. :D >:(

Last time i checked... hold on, let me go back and check what i said...

Oh, yeah!  I talked about helping the police, on site.  I guess in an Obama world, pulling out your cell phone, calling the cops when you see a thief is being a vigilante... by letting the "dark side" know that their are people about, and watching, that won't stand for that kind of BS in our camp.  I never implied anything violent happen.  The Order is about helping the helpless... you know, escorting drunken fools back to their home clans, watching a woman's back while she takes a piss at the Church of the Blue Water, breaking up stupidity before it becomes a drunken brawl... keeping an eye on our fellow Rennie's property. Vigilante... LOL.  :D  I call it C.I.A.... Chivalry In Action.  THAT is what The Order is about.

I thought i defended what The Order stood for, last year, when members of a different Clan attacked us and what we stood for?  >:(   History repeats itself... from my own clan.

The Order doesn't answer to any one Clan... we are Clanless but members of ALL clans.

So saith, Fraser of Lovatt, Holder of Lairde Daniel's Proxy,  Lairde of The Order Of Culloden Moor, Lord of the Rusty Nail, Knight of the Isles.

Let's get a few facts straight out in the open Fraser as it seems that doing this in private in the past hasn't worked.  The Order of Culloden Moor is not and has never been an order to protect, escort or act as a Guardian Angel to anyone.  The Order was MacKee's inception, copywright and cost and you and LD were brought in as members.

The scope of The Order is to give remembrance to those who were lost during The Battle of Culloden.  It is not and never will be a vigilante/guardian group.  Posting on R/F in such a way gives the impression that it is.

By posting such statements on the forum you have given cause to at least three possible scenarios:

1) The message that The Order is some kind of police force and gets the attention of the REAL police and/or faire officials and brings unwanted attention.

2) People buy into it and the next thing we know people are bugging The Order to help them remove drunks or do something about a pissed off boyfriend, etc.

3) The wrong people buy into it, get drunk and then, to prove a point, go out of their way to start sh*t with The Order.

All bad.

Do not broadcast that The Order is there to protect anyone.  If a lady asks someone for an escort back to a camp; that is fine and is at the discretion of the individual member.  But advertising The Order as anything else is asking for trouble.

Anyone that has a lick of sense and a love for their neighbor will call the police on someones behalf.  Don't try that angle with this.

LOL!  I love it!  i smelled this coming, before Scarby.  Since you obviously believe the caltrap you wrote, It was MY idea, worked out with LD... all details except the name and there were plenty of witnesses on chat that day... MacKee asked US to get in on it.  You can have it, since you want it so much, because i will not put my name to a social club.

Since i hold LD's Proxy in this... The Order of Culloden Moor is disolved.  You can have your stinking pins and you can keep your name from a LOSING battle.  :D

Have a nice day.  ;D

Allow me to clarify...The Order of Culloden Moor is not dissolved. Nor will it ever be until I decide so.

I am surprised and saddened to hear some of you no longer want to be part of our beloved Order.

Good luck. I wish you well.

Um, guys, could you take this Culloden thing private? Those of us in other clans try to keep our stuff off-board. It doesn't concern anyone else AND it's way off topic.

Sir Martin

This thread has gotten a bit heated for a number of reasons.  Let's try to all keep a cool head about things.

The situation with Charlie (and others who were relieved from their duties) is unfortunate.  He made a lot of friends over the years and it is sad, and almost always contentious when someone is abruptly terminated from a position.  There are factors involved that most of us are unaware of, and it is easy for tempers to flare when discussing issues of this nature.  None of us can override King George's decision, however, so we will have to deal with it as diplomatically as possible.

It's also unfortunate to see friends angry with each other, but please hold clan discussions of a contentious nature in a more private venue.  I hope you all can work it out.
