Sorry to hear you lost your pupdog... I have 7 dogs and 4 cats.... Losing one is hard but I find it is easier if you have another to share space with so it seems less empty. I would get another from a shelter or rescue... one that needs you as much as you need her!!! I can't imagine not having critters everywhere!!! Have the Peke asleep on the sofa with me and the Poohead is on one of his pillows!!!!

Bonnie, so glad to hear the Tachi is feeling better!!!! Still trying to get all the parts that can freeze put up,battened down or covered! No small feat here!!! Orchid the goat is cold so going to find the stuff to make her a blanket... hers got chewed up by evil rats in the barn!!!!

Queen Bonnie

I have never been without at least one- usually more cats! I can't imagine life without a furry friend! I got all ready for the big freeze-I HOPE! I did not move to TX for this kind of weather!  BRRR!
Hope all your critters stay warm, Cat! Batman won't even go out. He is getting to be a mostly indoor cat!

I came home from work two days ago and it went something like this:

"Hi, Kits, Daddy's home! Hi, Isis!" (petpetpetpetpet) Go in to look at the bed and no Osiris. "Okay, where's Osiris?" Go thru the various rooms calling "Where's Osiris?" with Isis looking as cute and innocent as can be. "Hey........you don't think when I went into the closet last night to get some things that......"

Open the door and there he is! "I thought you were on the window sill when I left! This is why we do a kitten check! I'm sure you probably left me a present for being in there all night!" (haven't gone looking for that yet).

Yep! My owners are staying warm, sleeping on a huge bed with lots of blankets, stuffed animals, and soft things (bags of laundry to be put away).

Queen Bonnie

LOL! Kitties do like to stay warm! me too! MeowManor is cold today.I am sewing by hand and listening to classical music.  Yoshi is my closet cat. I open my closet and that brings him running from whatever he is doing. He gets shut in a lot. He has been good about not leaving "presents" though. He does re arrange my clothes.
I love your Egyptkits names DT! Can Neri join? Amneris is Egyptian! I had thought of Isis! Cute name for a cat.

It has been silly here... the Sisters wienner have been insisting on being out.... but today they are in with the coats on... it is COLD.... they were good last night sleeping in the bathroom... no problem getting them back in...hehe! They went out this AM to guard the sheep head(we had Mutton fixed to eat) that they are enjoying in the yard... seems the resident black vulture was scamming on their sheep head!!! We have the hide tacked out tanning.... and the horns are going to be saved as well!!!!  I want this cold GONE!!! Bonnie...do your weather spell PLLLEEAAASSE!!!! I want warm weather back!

Queen Bonnie

I would warm it up if I could! I can only do faire weather spells! I am all tired out from TRF! I want warm back too! The furry purr-y heaters will feel good tonight! Meow Manor is not great invery cold weather.
OOOH! Lamb! Invite me over- when you decide to feast again- and it warms up!

Names and the Angels in Fur to go with them; that's always been an interesting thing.

I grew up with a tabby, Nimr (Arabic for tiger), so when I was going to get my first kitten (but we know that works the other way around), I was planning on a tabby and calling such Artemis or Athena.

No tabbys available at the shelter, just a black kitten under the name of Ebony. When she was there, so small, in my palms, she looked up at me with green eyes and "said"........... THIS ONE IS MINE! I'VE GOT HIM!

Hence, the appropriate name search began and the black cat who was a minature panther eventually became known as "Morgan" (for Morgan de la Fey and numerous pirates).

Morgan guided me for 10 years. When she departed, I wanted another black cat and two cats so never to come home to an empty apartment. That next black cat, I had visions of being "Isis".

No black cats available but there were a brother and sister (the EgypKits). First, I couldn't break them up, so I decided to get both of them. But then I needed a mythical brother and sister name.

My belly dancing teacher immediately suggested "Isis and Osiris". And with that, the EgypKITs ownership of me began. In the avatar, that's Isis on top (tabby, pink collar, indifferent) and Osiris on the bottom (gray, blue collar, looking at the camera, "he's just the LOVE BUG!").

Some cats are so easy to name- others are not. Each is unique!  I was planning on my next cat being another Siamese. Oh well! Neri is cute and special and I guess Bastet the cat Goddess sent her to me. Who can argue with a goddess of cats! LOL!
Are you a belly dancer DT? Interesting and fun!
Glad it warmed up today! Meow Manor survived the deep freeze!

We survived the freeze until this AM when the temp dropped a bit more and well control froze... Small pipe on top of the big one with the controls and such riding the top of it!!!..It is now unfrozen and has been wrapped in aluminum foil and plastic and foamed!!!!  Drastic measures and such!

Got Homey tattooed today..EARLY... now my moms diesal is acting up... won't start lights staying on... Very odd... cruise control has been acting funny...sort of surging... NARGLES most certainly. The cold must have brought them out! Bought the cutest little rammy lamby at the auction... he is black and white sort of half and half.. we named him Ralphie (Have to get a pic)... He will be our backup breeding ram. Have to haul Funkalunk and sell him now.... don't want him to breed his momma!  All is well here as much as it ever is....

cats do have a way of claiming us and finding a name... even our best laid plans of a *cool* name get bombed when they end up Oreo.....But I would not part with my overly familar!!!

Queen Bonnie

Fie on Nargles and cold weather too!  Sorry to hear about your freeze and your mom's truck Cat!
I need to check on my tropical plants in the garage. They were Ok yesterday. Not loving this weather at all. I had to break out my 1920's raccoon coat to walk to the library yesterday! 23 Skidoo!

Off and on since 1986. My highest point was when I was a member of a troupe in Baltimore, under WAMEDA, 1988-1990.

It is warming up- I am doing more anti nargle spells! POOF!<<< NARGLESBEGONE!!! I think nargles thrive on the frigid weather.
