Really don't want to spend more than 200....but I can go up to 300 if I have too.....but I don't want just a cheap Wal Mart tent...I want something that will last.

Oh, wow!  Nice budget...    I have the tent for you, then!  It's an awesome pop-up with a 6'5" center height, and it sets up in 1 minute... with one person.  Everything is attached, nothing to assemble or disassemble, no rain-fly to mess with, and it's got 2 rooms, each with plenty of room for a queen size mattress.  It's like a folding house, and it's only $200...

That is an awesome tent! read the reviews and few problems...hmmm maybe just maybe.....I was looking at a dome tent...any thoughts on those?

I have a dome, and it's great, but I'm not sure I've ever seen a dome with more than a 6" center height, so you might have to stoop just a tiny bit.  Oh, and it looks like the one problem is fixable if you know what to look for, and who doesn't waterproof the seams of a tent when they first buy it?  There are lots and lots of tents out there, though, and with your budget you might even be able to get a used period-type tent, but it would be really heavy, and you'd need help setting it up and tearing it down, and it would likely take a lot of room to haul around.

Rapier, does only one of the rooms in this tent have a floor, and the other have no floor?   Never mind... looks like I clicked on a wrong link from the search page when I went looking for reviews.

Always assume that you will need to water-proof your tent. Disappointment that you didn't will always be very very inconvenient.

ALWAYS waterproof your new tent!!!  No matter what the ad says... it will leak unless you treat the seams and floors.

As for the tent waterproofing ... what product do you all use?  Is Scotchguard sufficient or is there something more heavy duty?
