Lady Kathleen of Olmsted

The large hooks are sewn into the sleeves. I worked on the Partlet Ruff while watching TV.

Alerrick's Soft Wizard's Pill Box hat is cut out and ready for me to work on tomorrow.

The more I see those shoulder ruffles, the more I drool.  I just love that chemise.

Thank you Rowan.

The Chemise or Camicia is Jen Thompson's simple pattern that is available on her site at Festive Attyre. I added a couple more inches in width of the sleeves to get that poofiness. Instead of leaving the ends flowy, I decided to make cuffs.

The Partlet pattern I drafted freehanded, as well as the Sleeves.

The fabric I used for the Partlet is Embrloidered Silk that I bought at the huge fabric wharehouse called SR Harris west of Minneapolis.

There wasn't much left on the roll when i bought enough of what I needed for the Partlet.

Taking a break from Lady Kett's project to get this one started.  A 17th Century Doublet, instead of slashes, I am doing panes that will be piped. I drafted a pattern f rom an existing Doublet pattern to get the same effects.

I am going to use Silk brocade, which ravels like the Dickens. I am busy serging all my pieces to underlining. So that when I get to work putting everything together, I will have less of a mess.

Here are  the inspiration photos...More as I progress.

I've actually been there (I'm from Norway), and I had the hardest time restricting my purchases to what I knew I needed. They have everything!! The purchase I am most happy about from SR Harris is the plum velveteen I bought for the lower sleeves of the pink Bronzino dress. It was a piece from the scrap bin, it cost me basically nothing. I made the mentioned sleeves of it, as well as a period muff:

I dream of going back there...

I have some of that same Velveteen, opera! I have not seen it since! That is the thing about SR Harris! The same goes for their Silks. I was lucky to find the fine Dupioni and the Silk I used for the partlet there.

I am thinking of using that Velveteen for a Victorian Cloak.

That is the color of velveteen i had been drooling over for the PP's clockwork project.  /sigh....
It is kind of strange watching your personal history become costume.

Looks like I have to make a run up to the Cities on Sunday to nget more piping fro0m SR Harris for the project I am working on. I did not buy enough. I know there will be plenty available of the colors. Dummy me for not buying 30 yards.

I have the sleeves done. Will post photos soon.

Those panes take a lot of piping, but it's going to look fantastic!  Can't wait for the pics!
