Then Unfinshed sleeves to the 17th Century Doublet. I found a lovely bright Rust Silk Blend for the lining of ther cloak that matches the shade of Rust in the Piping. The fabric I am using for this ensemble is Silk Brocade. Ravels like a son-of-a-gun! There will be plenty ofbuttons that are Gold with a garnet center.

After another boatload of Alterations, I started work on the Cavalier Style shirt that will go with the 17th Century Doublet, Pants, and lined Cloak for a client in Texas. Here is the coillar to the shirt.

Laid out on the table showing the darts.

The instructions i used came from Renaissance Tailor..http://www.renaissancetailor.com/demos_cavcollars.htm Worked like a charm.

The Collar is on the shirt. Buttons will be the same as the Doublet and Sleeves. Gold with a garnet Center.

Now onto finishing the sleeves.

I love the cotton eyelet.
I've used a similar fabric for many chemises. Looking good Lady Kathleen.

This is another ensemble that will be worn at Scarby this year, Dona.

Thank you. I plan to get back up to SR Harris to get more piping to finish the Doublet. I will get to work next on the pants.

I seem to be going through a green phase. Fabric is mint green with darker green / copper pattern. The lamplight doesn't do the mint color justice.

Progress so far on the 17th century Project. I bought what I thought was  enough piping on Sunday at SR Harris. DAMN!!!  I was short again!!  UUUUGGGHH!!! So I have to make another jaunt over next week when I am in the area. Hope I can find more.

I have the Silk Brocade pants cut out and ready to make. Without the Piping, I can't make the Cloak either. 31 yards of piping is already in this project.

Note: I drafted the pattern for the Doublet using an existing pattern as a model. The Picadils, I drafted based on paintings of King Charles I. I also drafted the Sleeves as well. This is looking like a 17th Century ensemble than Elizabethan.

Gorgeous! :D

The Pants are finished. I used the SIMPLICITY pattern 4059 with some modifications. I lined the Silk, and make Leg Bands rather than casings for elastic.
