I am always drooling over things that come up on the two forums!  Well done everyone!

Lady Kathleen of Olmsted

It's coming along...

The sleeves, tabs that need more pearling on the bodice.

Full length shot.

I have the Doublet cut out with the trims sewn on, ready to pearl. That means sitting in front of the TV to sew. I also have the shoulder wings to the Doublet trimmed and ready to pearl as well.

More Photos will ensue.

The Purple Doublet that is in the works.  The fabric photographs blue, but it really is "in your face, hide from the Queen" purple.   ;D

Oh, don't worry, Mags, you won't need to run.

There are those of us who will make sure the Queen knows where you are, in case she needs to suddenly appropriate a Royal purple dupioni doublet and skirt.

ya uppity wench, you.  ;D

I started a new dress last night inspired by the Italian working women in the paintings by Vincenzo Campi. I got the bodice put together last night and trimmed it and added the lacing rings this morning.

I am in the process of waiting for out local Hancock Fabrics getting in from another store in Mankato, Hunter Green Piping that I need to finish Lady DeLaney's Outer Doublet to her ensemble. The not-too-poofy Italian Bonnet is finished, as is the Coif that goes with it.

Now on to Toki's ensemble. Pictures to come.

Sealion I am loving the start to your new dress.  I believe they mentioned this in the compleated gallery thread.  But there really is something to be said to a well done piece of lower or middle class garb.  Without all the bling and trim.  Then it comes down to a good plan, fabric choice and construction.

Mags.....purple????  hehehehe  It looks lovely, I'm sure it'll be something we will all me envious of.

sealion

I just have to hem the Campi dress and it will be done.  It's purple but I doubt our queen would interested in the dress of an Italian peasant. :giggle:
