What a great idea!  Nice way to beat the heat, as well...  :)  And, of course, you make it even more beautiful!

I have been working on my steampunk outfit, and nothing for Faire, but I am working on that since we will be going to Northern Faire in September or October.

So here is a necklace I took from Anne Boylen and made my own

Here is a Close Up

This was made with 2 strands of $1.00 a strand pearls, and a package of sparkles from Michael's for $4.99 and a big sparliie from Micheals, with wire and clasp this cost me under $20.00, so you can buy that bling!! LOL

working on making more stuff for my fun Faerie outfits- found this poly Sari fabric at Joann for 30% off! Made a quick tier skirt in about 2 hours (I adore tier skirts- they're so easy!) and then showing too with my Faerie Moresca, which I am beading to add whimsy and to increase color combo options...

Lovely stuff! I can't compare, but I'm proud of our latest accomplishment - one chemise for the Prodigal Daughter. And I only had to rip out 2 seams where I sewed things together backwards! I think I'm dyslexic with the sewing machine.  :-\

Next on deck, Sidekick is spearheading an Englishman's Pants project. He likes to modify as he goes so I'm not sure what they will end up like, but it should be interesting!

Not sure if I should add this to 'show us your hats' or this epic thread, but I finished my second attempt at millinery today.

I used the Lynn McMasters 'Women's Elizabethan High Crowned Hat' pattern.

I shortened the height from the pattern by about an inch because it was too tall for me. When I try it again, I might try it again the right way - I spent a lot of time fiddling with the length instead of just finishing the darn thing.

I *really* wanted to do it with 16 pleats, but was also in a hurry and not confident about the whole business of hand sewing. I feel a lot more confident with the strategy now, so there will likely be another iteration soon.

The lighting in the photos was bad - I tried to fix it in postprocessing, but it's a brown hat with blue trim lol

I like that the brim can be bent into kind of a curve from front to back, or be made pointy at the front.
