The only thing that drove me nuts was making sure I didn't have duplicate coupons and having them ready.  I would swear the clerks think this week is  a living.....,considering how some customers are about thier discounts.
I agree that to the prices don't feel inflated to me, especially since I price check across the internet and such.  They have a good selection, and at prices I can affrod, usually with out coupons.  When i'm on a strict budget  it is the place I go.
It is kind of strange watching your personal history become costume.

I bought 7 yeards of green velvet to make a skirt last Saturday. I have been wrestling with the urge to go buy some more all week.
I don't really think I need more; but the little Fabriholic in my head keeps telling me I do.

Soooooo no, this Seller is not a good seller!  The fabric arrived....it is purple and GOLD a deep rich gold,

So this looks like it is a lavender with a silver, I was expecting it to be a richer (due to photo flash) purple with the silver right???!!!

WRONG! It is a deep aubergine purple with an old GOLD no silver at all not one iota of silver!!!!!

So I am sending this back? Because I am a Purple/Silver girl and I will spend $$ to attain purple/Silver not ......this although it is a lovely weave and a nice drape and feel!

But it is not NOT silver whine

Wickedvox

Hi, my name is Wickedvox, and I too *hangs head in shame* am a fabriholic. It's been 5 days since I last purchased material, and I didn't even have the decency to finish my work in progress before I did it!! I found a wonderful wool blend tan/burgundy/cream tartan decorator fabric I plan to use for my skirt for $6/yd, a burgundy micro-suede and a cream micro-suede to use for the bodice for $5/yd ea. and only need 1/4 yd each. I am going to Joann's tomorrow to use my coupons to buy linen to use as the over skirt along with some notions. *sigh* I know it's wrong, I just can't help myself!

Good Lord - you FINISH projects before you buy more fabric?  How restrained!

My new sewing partner went up in the loft with me the other day to help put stuff away.  She looked at the stacks in horror, not having realized just how the 60 crates looked, or just how easily the stash managed to provide so much for our marathon 18th C adventure!  Now she knows...  We have a 17th C/Civil War era project coming up (Cavaliers and Roundheads) in 2013, and I already have most of the fabrics I'll need for the major pieces...

I scored 7 meters of the finest white handkerchief linen the other day. I stopped by a sewing studio making Norwegian folk costumes (which demands linen for aprons, head scarfs and shirts), and they had this bolt of linen on clearance. It was originally half price, but I bargained some more and got the whole lot for $60 - which IS a bargain in Norway. I smell a new chemise coming up...

So I went to Joann's yesterday, had my 25% off anything coupon (regular AND sale price).  Bought what I went for, the fabric and buttons for a civil war dress, coat with lining and skirt.  Couldn't help but see that the Sari fabric was $4 off a yard!  Bought three colors for new harem pants.  Had to peruse the Wilton's isle.  Found a gum paste flower kit, on clearance.  Buttons were buy one get one so I stocked up, jewelry stuff buy one get one, well...  When I got to the register they gave me a 50% off coupon to use then and there.  About $150 pre tax worth of stuff for $84 after tax! ;D
Today a friend is coming over with her stash so we can have a costume/fabric day.  Enabling each other! ::)

Has anyone seen the new section of decorator fabrics in Hancock's that are $3, $6 or $7 per yard?  It's back near the rows of red tag sale items, and some of the things they have a very nice.  I haven't found any completely natural fibers yet, but I've seen some lovely things that would work well for overskirts or cloaks, and they have some wonderful things for fantasy Faire wear, also!  The stock is constantly changing, so I'm not sure if they are choosing things from their regular stock to put out there for a limited time, or what, but if you find something you like you should get it then, because it might not be there next time... (yes, that's experience speaking... :-\ ).

Well I am proud of myself,
I went to Joanns today and all I walked out of there with were 5 Butterick patterns.
I couldn't find any fabric that was worth getting for me.
The two types of fabric I was looking for were still full price.

Ooh, I was good today, too! All I walked out with was the cotton and elastic that I need for the chemise commission. Though I did put something on hold as a possibility for tomorrow... http://www.renaissancefestival.com/forums/index.php?topic=14720.0

Lady Rebecca

I just failed in my 12 step program. Okay, it's not quite fabric. But...

I just bought 55 13" Ostrich feathers off of ebay. But they were only $32.50! (That was an intense last minute bidding war!). I can't wait to meet my package in CA next month and put plumage all over everything!

Wickedvox

So here's a question fellow fabriholics: when buying fabric online, who do you find is the cheapest, and most reliable (in way of representation of colors/patterns)? I know Cilean had some issues with material recently purchased online. How do YOU avoid fabric bungles?

I am following the 12 steps to recovery and moved fully into a smaller place.  So, more getting rid of fabrics...
