Rebecca,
if we are going by those standards I've never been on the wagon,
Ill probably be spending $200 on blood red leather in the next week.
Are you looking to resell some of those feathers?

I might be. I need to see and play around with dyeing some of them first. But then, I can't imagine using more than 20 of them any time in the near future.

I was naughty this weekend.  I walked into JoAnn's for grommets, and walked out with five yards of evergren fabric, two patterns, and totally forgot the grommets.  But I met a garbing cohort, so I still call it a successful trip.  :D

I'm very much guilty of being a fabricholic. I can't walk into Hobby Lobby or Joanns without walking out with way more than I went in for. You know it's bad when you can walk in any day of the week and the people there know you by name and have a vague idea what your project's going to be. :)

DonaCatalina

I'm there with you Magpie. The guy who owns Wherehouse Fabrics on Perth Street recognizes me when I come in and gets his clerks to show me his latest silk finds.

It has gotten to the point that PP walks into the fabric store, and the cutting table girls know him on sight. They always ask #1 is this for him or the theater #2 what in the world we are making now  ;D

One girl the other day wanted to know where his santa hat was :)  (We were in there at Christmas getting velvet to make hats to sell for present money.)

Ok so I fell off the wagon yesterday.
I didn't fall, I took a running leap off of it.

I was in Lakeland friday and saturday for an airshow.
by saturday my mom and I had our fill of airplanes so we drove around town and lo and behold, 10 minutes from the show was a Hancocks fabrics.
I bought 12 yards of a gorgeous ruby red silk at $5/yd.
I know I was bad.

After being in Hancocks, the selection of fabric for everyday clothes at Joanns is pretty abismal.

Hi All!

Well I am living in my denial! I did a quick trip to LA Garment District (because I wanted to get some linen and birthday gifts)
So this is what I found:

This will be a Summer Liz with grey bias tape to trim it out!

This is 1.7 ounce linen and yes you can read through it! For Smocks

This is a Joann Steal deal! This week is 50% off of red tag, and they had 4 silk dupioni rolls in Green Gold and Shot and a Burgundy, I picked up the Shot and the burgundy. Joanns had them at $29.99 but after all the discounts? $4.50 per yard!!!

I went to JoAnn's yesterday and bought another 30+ yards of White Symphony Broadcloth for $1.99 a yard. I have a lot of Elizabethan shirts to make for VMS. Daffodil Sale at JoAnn's. EVERYTHING is on Sale!

My house is being overrun by Fabric! The Broadcloth was cheaper at JoAnn's than on eBay! Which there was not muvh for White Broadcloth.

The PP went into Joann's yesterday to get me a new zipper (the zipper on my dress froze/melted in the dress I wore to faire on Saturday). While there he found a bolt of the same fabric his original Flamingo outfit was made of. He bought all that was left.  Then handed it to me when he got home.  I think I'm making him something for this Saturday. :)

Best fabric find ever for me! Dusty rose pink shantung regularly 9.99/yd; red tag price $4; 50% OFF=$2.00/YD!!

I got 11 yards for $22!! Pretty sure I'm going to make a skirt, but I'd really like to make THIS:
Just need to find the pattern...stupid Joann is sold out. Grr.
Drunk with fabricholism!!!

I have that pattern!  Dress is a monster fabric-wise, but I found it easy to assemble.

Hmm, having dinner right by JoAnn's tonight...I think it's a sign.

PS, If you're in the MSP area, Wicked, I can give you mine, if I've got the right size for you.  Feel free to PM me.  :)

Not sure what MSP is guru, but I'm in SE Michigan. I have my eye on a couple on ebay. I run a 16 bust & 18 waist. Yeah, I looked up the yardage on it...hoo-wee! Even with my colossal find I wouldn't have enough, but I don't want the sleeve's on mine so that should cut it down signifigantly. We shall see!
