Eisiskiu Pils, or Eisiskiu castle is slightly east of the town of Eisiskiu, Lithuania.

The castle has been conveniently designed and established as a fortress and was probably occupied through the thirteenth century and up to the second half of the fourteenth century. An important route, connecting Vilnius, Hrodna, and Warsaw, ran through the town and was protected by the castle. Almost nothing is left except the foursqaure founations.

Château d'Aspelt is located in Aspelt in the south of Luxembourg.

The origins of Aspelt Castle appear to go back to before 1100 when a fortified castle with a moat was built on the site, on Roman ruins. The first written reference to the castle can be found in Theoderich von Wied's Echternach chronicles from 1132.

Kasteel de Kinkelenburg is located in the heart of Bemmel, Netherlands.

Fortaleza de Sagres is located in a dominant position crowning the Ponta de Sagres , in the southwest of Algarve in Portugal.

The promontory of Sagres and the adjacent villages of San Vicente and Sagres, were donated 27 October of 1443 ,to the Regent D. Pedro by his brother, the Infante D. Henrique (1394-1460). The village of Sagres, then abandoned and in ruins because of the ravages of the Barbary pirates , was from then rebuilt and repopulated, including with regard to building the castle for defense. Due to its straegic position, the castle was continuously rebuilt over the years.

Pharwala Castle is a historic fort located about 40 km from Rawalpindi in Punjab, Pakistan.

It is a Gakhar fort built in the 15th century on the ruins of a 10th century Hindu Shahi Fort. On the opposite bank of the River Soan are the ruins of a mosque and a Hindu temple.

Chobienia Zamek is located just south of the town of Chobienia, Poland.

Bavarian geographer at 845 , contains 20 towns of the tribe Dziadoszanie , among them the city Coben (Chobienia). Probably in the sixteenth century The original castle was demolished and in 1583 was erected the castle Renaissance style of the then owner George Von Kottwitz.

Castillo de Uellos Negros, or Ojos Negros in Castilian, is in a village of he same name in Teruel, Spain.

Alfonso I the Battler took Molina de Aragón in 1128. Consequently, Ojos Negros lands would pass into the hands of Christians. The core of the castle was probably built several years earlier.  Ojos Negros Castle, which has an oval plan, would retain three rectangular towers, quite high. It is situated on the slope of a gentle hill.

Château d'Osthoffen is a château situated in the département of Bas-Rhin, Alsace, France.

The castle was built in the early tweflth century on Roman foundations. There was never a moat around this castle but it retained a system of ditches and abates in the Roman style.

Schaaken Castle is a ruin in Nekrasovo, Russia.

Schaaken castle like many other fortresses in Prussia was built on the place of the former Prussian fortification. The foundations date from the 10th century at least with newer construction on top of them.

Château de Gageac is located near Gageac-et-Rouillac in south-west France.

Originally, the fortress only consisted of a square tower of stone called "donjon" now the west tower dating from eleventh cenury. The castle was added onto throught the fourteenth century.

Alcazaba of Almería is a fortified complex in Almería, southern Spain.

In 995 Almería gained the title of medina ("city") by the Caliph of Cordoba, Abd ar-Rahman III: construction of the defensive citadel, located in the upper sector of the city, began in this period.

Castillo de Callosa en Sarria is a ruin in the town of Sarria, in the province of Lugo, northwestern Spain.

It was in Sarria where King Alphonse IX, died in 1230 while making a pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela.The portion of the pilgrim route called Camino de Santiago runs past the castle and through this town.

Kinnaird Head Castle is on a headland projecting into the North Sea, within the town of Fraserburgh, Aberdeenshire on the east coast of Scotland.

The Kinnaird Head Castle (one of The Nine Castles of Knuckle), was built in 1570 by Sir Alexander Fraser, 8th laird of Philorth and sold to the Trustees of the Northern lights in 1787, who turned it into a lighthouse. The Winetower is a small three story tower located approximately 50 metres from Kinnaird Head Lighthouse. It is reputed that in the cave below, one of the Fraser family imprisoned his daughter's boyfriend, leaving him to drown there. The daughter then jumped from the roof of the tower. There is red paint on the rocks below to illustrate her blood. According to local tradition, the tower is said to be haunted.

Burg Schwarzwasserstelz was a medieval castle , situated on an island on the south bank of the Upper Rhine in Switzerland. Opposite it is found today on the German bank, the ruins of Burg Weisswasserstelz.

Schwarzwasserstelz was until 1330 the property of the Barons of Wasserstelz, and was probably built by that family in the 11th or 12th century.
The Burg Weisswasserstelz was in the 12th  Century by the Reichenau porter lineage of Wasserstelz built and in 1170  Wasserstelce is documented in a de Wernherus mentioned.
