Holloko Castle overlooks a vaillage of the same name in Hungary.

The castle was probably built late in the thirteenth century; a diploma dated in 1310 mentions the name Castrum Hollokew.

Killyleagh Castle is a castle in the village of Killyleagh, County Down, Northern Ireland.

Killyleagh was settled in the 12th century by Norman knight John de Courcy who built fortifications on the site of the castle in 1180, as part of a series of fortifications around Strangford Lough for protection from the Vikings.

Babak Castle is a large citadel on the top of a mountain in the Arasbaran forests, Iran.

It has been identified as the stronghold of B?bak Khorramdin (~798-838AD), the leader of the Khurramites in Azerbaijan who fought the Islamic caliphate of Abbassids.

The Citadel of Arbil (or Erbil) is a fortified tell or occupied mound, inside the historical city centre of Arbil in Iraq.

The earliest evidence for occupation of the citadel mound dates to the 5th millennium BC, and possibly earlier. It has been claimed that the site is the oldest continuously inhabited fortress or town in the world.

Castel Manfrino (or Macchia) lies above the municipality of Valle Castellana in Italy.

It owes its name to Manfred of Swabia , son of Frederick II , is also mentioned in documents as Castrum Maccle, the castro of Macchia. The castle was built at the behest of Manfred of Sicily sometime around 1250.

Penukonda or Penu Konda is a medieval castle  and small town in the Anantapur district of Andhra Pradesh, India.

The outer walls crown the entire mountaintop and the older portion of the town. The castle and fortress was originally by the Holsayas between the 10th and the 14th centuries.

Castello Aragonese stands on a volcanic rock off the coast of Ischia, Italy.

Clervaux Castle (also known in Luxembourgish as Schlass Klierf) is in the town of Clervaux in northern Luxembourg.

Waardenburg Castle, or Weerdenburg sometimes called, is a medieval castle located in Waardenburg in the municipality Neerijnen, Netherlands.

It is rare that the exact foundation date of the castle is known, as for the "the Waardenburg" they do. On 5 August 1265 gave Count Otto II of Gelre Hiern the villages, Neerijnen and Opijnen to Rudolph de Cocq, (spelling altered to avoid word substitution) a knight, who in return his belongingsin  Rhenoy ceded.

Castle Hoensbroek or Gebrookhoes (Castle Gebrook) is one of the largest castles in the Netherlands.

There was a motte-and-bailey dated from around 1225. In 1250 a fortified manor was built on the location of the present castle. The oldest part of the current castle, notably the tall round tower, dates from around 1360, when it was built by Herman Hoen.

Château d'Éguilly is a castle in the commune of Éguilly in the Côte-d'Or département of France.

Constructed on the site of a Gallo-Roman castle (a Roman road still crosses the present castle courtyard), the 12th century strongpoint with solid ramparts was gradually altered towards the 15th century to be used as a residence for an archbishop.

Château d'Époisses is a castle in the Burgundy region of France.

Castle Époisses would be, if we are to believe the tradition, prior to the sixth century .Queen Brunhild would indeed frequently stayed with her grand-son Thierry, the young king of Burgundy. In the twelfth century , the castle passed successively into the hands of the family of Montbard.

Holt Castle is located in the village of Holt Fleet, England.

At the time of his death Sir John Beauchamp of Holt, Lord of Beauchamp, Baron of Kidderminster, had manors, estates and properties throughout the Midland shires and beyond. Holt was still however his principal manor. It is thought that John Beauchamp built Holt Castle around 1378. The only surviving original portion of which is the square tower that dominates the west elevation, with fifteenth and sixteenth century additions behind.
