W o w ... I just managed to get my meds covered and expedited so I'll have them by Friday afternoon, get my previous coverage temporarily reinstated, and get the application for my new insurance taken care of, and all over the phone since 10am this morning! Oh, and I won't even have a co-pay for the meds...!   :o

Six hours, but time well spent, if exhausting...  :D  Busy day for me!

I don't know how people are expected to stay alive today...

I know what you mean. Ron used to make such a funy face evry time he got his chemo because since we had to walk the paperwork from the reception to the insfusion center we could see the accounting where his first round of chemo was 12,000 each (he had 12 treatments), his second round was 20,000 a pop and his third round was 25,000 each time. At one point there was a notation that 100,000 was owed! :o by the insurance not by us ::) His treatments were for the most part covered (not even co-pay). This did not include the meds he took at home but copays for those never exceeded $30 so hail to the insurance indeed ;)

Glad everything worked out for you :D

Thank you, Lady G! If they had told me it would cost that much I probably would have had a heart attack... and given up! It was a scramble today, but worth it!

Me too!!! I'm already well past the point where it could set me back, but I'd rather just get it finished as soon as I can!!!

Thanks, FF! Now I'm just waiting for the delivery...

I don't mind so much getting the ear thing while I'm having a conversation I'm enjoying... LOL  Even when we've been on so long the phone starts beeping... (gigglesnerk)

Thank you, Seryn! I finally got my meds, but they were delayed, even though they said they wouldn't be, so I had to miss a treatment and my doctor frowned at me this morning... but she said it wasn't going to make any actual difference, so it's all ok.

I was sent the meds in a form I'm not familiar with, though, and now instead of having the Redipen that is simple to use, I have vials and syringes, and I have to measure part of one vial into another, mix without shaking and draw up into yet another syringe, then judge whether I'm simply subcutaneous (good), or penetrating the muscle (bad), by the way the needle feels in my leg. A needle which is more than twice as long as the one that comes with the Redipen injector. My pills are different, also, and now I have seven to take every day of just the anti-virals, instead of 3. And that doesn't include the 10 other things I'm having to take just to get through the treatments...

Still not happy about the whole fiasco, but at least I got the meds, and I didn't have to pay $2400.00 for them!

Makes me soooo much more thankful about everything!

I'm so glad you got the meds in today Rani but it sucks that they were delayed. You still continue to be in my thoughts and prayers as always.

Thank you, Lord W... now that it's down to these last few treatments it's gotten both harder, and easier... The side effects are getting worse, the treatments are harder to take each week and my moods shift with the wind, but knowing it's almost over and that it worked, I'm cured, has me so elated that I almost don't even care (well, until the fever hits, anyway, then it sucks!), and I just can't wait to get it over with!!!

I had to skip a whole treatment, because of the delay, and I can't catch up on it, but it's fine to do 23 instead of 24, since it's a fairly fluid number within a range of effective treatment durations, but I'll be done still on 3/27 with the chemo, and a week later with the pill phase.

Thank you all for supporting me through all of this!!! I know I could never have made it this far without each of you!
