I admit it... I'm scared

I'm good.  Still too early for the shot, so I'm just doing a little surfing, beforehand...  Gotta keep in practice, right?

How's Hawt doin' these days? She any closer to making her debut than the back of your mind?

She's just flittting around, thinking of making fabric runs.  Is this your last weekend of treatment?  Just thinking boutcha.

Awww... you're so sweet to come hang out with me on Fridays!  It's my next-to-last treatment, so next weekend is it!!!

I might even have a few strands of hair left... who knows!

I made a fabric run yesterday, and got the last of the fabric for this seasons garb!  I have to dye the cotton gauze for my chemise, but it will be worth it to get just the right color in that light weight fabric. Also got some upholstery samples that look to be perfect to make into stomachers for both bodices and waist cinchers.  Lets see, some gorgeous muted reddish and gold upholstery for half the gores in my skirt (the rest are a dark brown brushed corduroy), and a darkish heather green embroidered with gold diamonds for a plush waist cincher and Turkish style short vest I've been coveting this last year.  Oh, and the dye for the gauze. So I had fun at Hancock's yesterday, and it was all on sale!

I think Hawt may have to be put on the back burner for a while. I've got a couple of outfits that I need to work on and a ropa.  I'm also wanting to start some steampunk-y spats.  I'm holding the patent on "Hawt Pink", though!  I made a bodice out of the Alexander Henry roses & blue-eyed skulls fabric a couple of weekends ago to match a skirt I made year before last - it looks really nice w/my red chemise.

Sounds like you bought out Hancock's - and on sale, too.  Good job!  It sounds like you have your work cut out - & to be cut out.  Don't you love new garb?  I am intrigued by the Turkish jacket - post pictures, please!

I'm so proud of you - just one more week - et voila! c'est fini!  Take care of yourself & try to get plenty of rest.  I'm off to try to figure out a spats pattern.

OMG!!!  I can't believe I fell asleep on the couch last night... before I took my shot!

I was sitting upright...

I had to take it this morning, so today will probably be really crappy, as opposed to only generally crappy.  It's sooooo much easier to sleep through the worst!  I need ibuprofen...

The vest is just a cropped vest that's darted under the bustline so it's fitted.  It's Simplicity 5359, so a commercial pattern, but it's a fun look, and it fits my gypsy fortunetellers journey, so it's an alternate to my new bodice that I'll be receiving very soon from miss Bonnie!!!  I'll be trimming it with tassel fringe, or at least a nice heavy braid.  Maybe both, who knows?  LOL

Some days you just need to be laced up a little differently, I guess...  ;)   :P

I've been having fun with steampunk visions, lately!  Have you ever read Girl Genius?  She's lots of fun!!!

Sounds like you're pretty busy with projects right now, also!  I'm just starting to think about that Fire Fairie/Elemental, and she's beginning to sound like someone who needs to come out around All Hallows.  Oh my... different length asymmetrical layers of varying shades of flame hued floaty chiffon (maybe hand dyed) with rolled lettuce edge hem to make all the layers stand out from each other, but more in a tattered way than a frilly way.  Red and orange hints in the short-short hair, with deep blue and green low lights here and there, some nice fluttery wings, and a good pair of sandals. Few other bits and pieces and she'll be all set to make her debut, for at least one day of All Hallows!

Hancock's was fun, especially since everything I bought except the dye was more than half off, so I saved a lot on something I needed to buy anyway, and I got really great fabric that I'm excited to use! Yep, new garb is more fun that many things I can think of...

I'm getting pretty excited about the next two weeks. After next Friday I only have a week left of the meds, then I'll start to feel better within days. Need to start having more blueberries to help get rid of it faster, I guess.

Have fun with your spats!!!  LOL   I'm going to... well, hang out here, for a while...   :-\

Once upon a time Ron made me a belly dancing costume using that pattern. I just might have to dig it out and take some pics at least on the mannequin ;)

Well...Actually he made this for me about maybe 2 or 3 years ago because at the time, along with two of my cousins I was taking a bellydance class at the community college. I wore it to the end of class party and for a dance one of my cousins and i put together in honor of my uncle's b-day. i have not worn it since. At MDRF I am cast ans part of the court so I have not worn it there either. I might end up selling at one point or another but since I seem to not be able to part with anything at the moment, time will tell...

Well, you just keep everything if you want to!  If Ron made it for you, then it has a lot of him in it, and those things can always bring us comfort over time.

There is always the possibility you could travel to another Faire where you could wear it, right?  Who knows, one of these days you might get an urge to be a Gypsy dancer for a just a little while...   ;)

Huzzah for you, my brave soldier!  I'm proud proud proud of you - you are truly inspirational.  May blessings flow like water and surround and fill you with the light of love.

Oh Taffy, you can never know how much you all have inspired me, and today is both happy and sad for me because, as triumphant as I feel at having made it through this whole ordeal, I know it could have been so much more difficult without all of you here to lift me up, and having you all here in the same place so often will be missed sorely!

This is the last one, and I'll be done.  I can hardly believe it's been six months. Well, yeah, I can...  LOL  But I have trouble believing it's really going to be over after this weekend!

It's been such a help to know you've been through even worse, and to have had your company and encouragement through it all.  Thank you, my friend, you'll never know what it's meant to me...   ;)

Thanks, Amy... as I said, I could never have done it without all of you here by my side whenever it got too overwhelming, or too painful, sad or scary... but the best parts were the ones that were too much fun!!!

I haven't laughed as much in years as I have in the last six months, and it's made all the difference...  :D
